A Poem For Today Until Tomorrow
A cell inside Israel's Nitzan Prison holds a blindfolded bound Palestinian waiting to be executed
My death poem Will not die with me alone Even though the guards will not allow me to write Imperialism is the highest stage of capitalism And a parasite Selling the spoils of Israeli settler-colonialism Despite the United Nations Forth Geneva Convention The international Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions Palestinian led movement A famous song Sung by an equally famous U.S. songwriter Shelter from the Storm An advertisement for an Airbnb In the occupied West Bank Where an Arab family once lived Star of David embossed U.S. F-16s Bomb the Gaza Strip The Stukas of WWII Dropping 2000-pound bombs Leaving holes and craters Where Palestinian buildings once stood Arab families once lived Hospitals once operated Schools once educated Palestinians sought these shelters From the storm of U.S.-Israel’s Gaza war The genocide taking place The world watches Zionism has won the day Only to show that the Arab-Israeli War Does not end as long as Palestinians exist In occupied Palestine with the memories of the dead Buried beneath the rubble A child’s comb A wife A mother A father A grandmother A grandfather Babies Israel’s military mission Erasing the history of Palestine As I think these words The future State of Palestine is being made impossible By Israel An apartheid racist state That is Israel’s final solution To erase Palestine Palestinian life Palestinian history From the face of this earth Genocide This event is all so real So much blood Life History Blown into oblivion It is hard to believe it is really you The nation-state of the Jews Apartheid-Israel You can no longer hide Mass murderer of Palestinians Middle East warmonger For all the world to see You who suffered so much At the hands of Nazis Racist gentile clerks Israel the nation-state of the Jews Always taking more Arab land Let the Arabs dig for their living Buried Swallowed alive In the rubble Of their blown up buildings Among the Gaza Strip’s dead Using only their bare hands At my cell door My executioners will stand The death penalty law passed by Israel’s Knesset in hand Condemned me as a “terrorist” by an Israeli military tribunal To be hung by the neck within 90 days I will stand beneath the gallows My hands and feet bound For fighting against The occupiers of my land Palestine from the river to the sea One day will be free For Arab and Jew and all others Living within its borders A PFLP Marxist-Leninist resistance fighter Of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine A veteran of Operation Al-Aqsa Flood Oct. 7, 2023 My death poem A Poem For Today Until Tomorrow
