The idea of RFWPA was simple: Write and post a strong anti-capitalist Purpose Statement that would endeavor to incorporate anti-fascist writers, poets, and artists into an association or RFWPA. In the very least I thought that still living —in and out of the U.S. prison complex— political activists and revolutionaries of the volatile U.S. new-left, and decolonization movement era would jump on board RFWPA. 

The most corrupt and lethal government in existence today has been unleashed on Earth, with the dissolution of the Soviet Union in 1991 there is no counter-check to U.S. imperialism and fascism. What allowed for a semblance of democracy, equality, and environmental sustainability also no longer exists. Both resistance fighters of U.S. colonialism and the planet fight a genocide taking place against them respectively. 

The philosophical roots of fascism always use scapegoating, racism, anti-communism, and exploitation to develop its brand of cult of personality and totalitarianism. Look at how Joseph Goebbels, Hitler’s propaganda Maestro, worked in Nazi Germany and tell me that you can’t see the roots of fascism in the way that the U.S. government works in 2026.

The U.S. socialist left cannot avoid calling for a socialist revolution, calling out the likes of what constitutes a U.S. cult of populism or fascism —the conduct of the U.S. president, the U.S. congress, the U.S. waging imperialist wars for world domination and resources, the U.S. using its federal law enforcement agencies, FBI and CIA, immigration and customs enforcement as a Gestapo force— in its governance and tactics, court and prison complex. Free Palestine will not exist if U.S. capitalism, imperialism exist.

What to do about U.S. imperialism and fascism is still the burning issue of the 21st century; first what are the issues, the questions, that we should be asking and what are the answers that we should be coming up with. What is the roll of anti-fascist writers, poets, and artists in the struggle for world peace, self-determination, decolonization and a sustainable equitable Earth today?
